judges 11-13
japhthah saves israel. three more judges follow, then samson.
now japhthah.
he vowed to the lord that he'd offer in sacrifice the first thing that came out of his house to greet him. surely he knew it'd be a person. his wife, or daughter, or maidservant. though i dont think your servant would be more eager than you wife or only daughter. did he think the first thing coming out would be a goat?
and he kept to his word. he gave the daughter some time to grieve with her friends, then offered her. i thought god was repulsed by human sacrifice. but a vow is a vow right? if he was foolish enough to make such a vow he was to learn his lesson.
point is, he kept a vow even though it hurt alot.
point taken.
