loving our neighbours

I was considering how often we choose to neglect a certain special group of neighbours when it comes to outreach and ministry.... at least i speak for myself, i struggle to breach that boundary and reach out to my Muslim friends because of the complications of religious sensitivity and harmony.

The LORD led me to read about how He has modeled for us to follow in Genesis 16.
In that passage the Bible tells us about the story of Hagar and Ishmael. Where Sarai, Abram's wife tells Abram to sleep with Hagar, their maid servant, and start a family through her. It was a mistake and it led to Hagar running away from Sarai and her masters. In verse 7 however, God reached out to them.
"The angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was a spring that is beside the road to Shur. And he said, "Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from? and where are you going?""
The Lord saw how Hagar was mistreated by her mistress, Sarai and gave her this promise.
"Go back to your mistress and submit to her... I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count."

I believe God foresaw all that was to conspire from the birth of the Muslim nation from the time of Hagar and Ishmael till what it is now. Yet because He loves them just as much as He loves the rest of His children, the Lord desires to bless them and watches over them. Let us therefore learn to be a blessing and a good neighbour to our Muslim friends! They are the children that God loves too!
