I just mediated on the 1st two verses.
Eph 4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
I was asking myself - How to live a life worthy of the calling?? Then it goes in vrse2, with instructions of How to be?
2Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Oh no if i say I'm not proud- its like a drunkered man saying he's not drunk. But the rest, hmmm yes! yes! yes! (Sometimes, at times, most of the time)... So is it ok because not excessively humble or gentle? The word 'Completely' changed my whole perspective. There is no such thing as excessively. And its all done in love.
Application: Guard the things that come out of my mouth (attitude). To be gentle (being mindful even when I'm angry) and humble (know my position in God, a sinner save by grace). To take away any perception that I'm better off than alot of people.
Prayer: I pray Lord that I'll be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with others in love. I pray God will fill up with His love...
With regards,
