all of man's carnal instincts are not of the Spirit.
if left to our instinct, we would be mere beasts.
which is why it is so important
that we live in the Spirit.
that we pray in the Spirit.
that we listen to the Spirit's guidance.
that we heed the Spirit's prompting.
which is why i like to pray in tongues every morning when i awake,
and fill myself with the Spirit, to drown out the old man in me - the carnal instincts.
the Spirit is contrary to the carnal.
carnal desires like pride. like lust. like greed. like indulgence. like boastfulness. like destruction. like jealousy. like slander.
it starts small, seemingly innocent - a simple desire, an innocent crush.
but if we let it grow, it will well destroy us in its maturity.
therefore, be ON GUARD against the devil's schemes.
what might feel so right may turn out to be so wrong.
and be ON GUARD for those that divide us.
for they operate in the carnal flesh rather than in the Spirit.
ALWAYS check: is it me, or is it the Holy Spirit?
if we follow the Holy Spirit, we can't go very wrong.
MY APPLICATION: to pray in the Spirit every morning.
