'The Lord does not look at the things man look at.
Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'- 1Sam16:7
I thank GOD for giving me a new understanding to this verse.
I question myself
'So what if we could throw a good party, organise a good event,
preach a good sermon or play a good concert?'
Man looks at our achievements, our medals, our accomplishments.
But the LORD looks at the heart.
Where is our heart when doing the works of GOD then?
Due to my years of experience in running ministry matters,
sometimes the work of the lord becomes a work of routine.
That means doing the works without putting GOD in the picture.
Just do because of 'no purpose' and for 'no one'
Why do we drink?- Because we're thirsty
Why do you perspire?- Because your body needs to drain heat away as fast as possible
Who do you study for?- For yourself? TO please your mum? to glorify your dad?
These are questions to ask yourself.
If We do things for 'no purpose' and for 'no one' then why not just don't bother doing it at all?
The point I'm driving across is
'You can do something BIG and GREAT in the works of GOD. But if your heart is not tune in doing 'for him' and for the purposes of 'HIM', then thats not WORSHIP. Thats not what GOD is looking for and that is definately not going to make GOD smile.
SO my friends, lets check our hearts.
Who are we doing it for?
Why are we doing it?
Worship is a lifestyle. Choose to make Jesus smile. Thats worship
