^ Prayers

Today at Joshua's house, we had QT.

Eph 6:18 18With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,

1. Pray in the Spirit on ALL occasions.
My question was how to pray on ALL occasions? And since Eph 6 is an summary of the whole Eph, i went to dig for gold in the other passages...

And found,
Eph5...Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2. Be on alert with ALL perseverance
Why must I be alert with ALL perseverance?

And found,
Eph4: 30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

I must persevere to day of redemption. With the end in mind, I must persevere and not slack or get discouraged. Pressing on every inch forward to that day. That i may not loose sight of it and get distracted.

3. Petition for ALL saints

Eph1: 15For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints,
16do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers;
17that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.
18I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
19and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might

And

Eph 2: 14For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
15from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name,
16that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,
17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
19and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

What does this show? It is throughout Ephesians. Paul leads by example. He always pray for the saints. And he is asking us to imitate him.

All in all Prayer should always be my First recourse rather than be the last resort.
Must dedicate time to start praying again.
